Stuck

Paige Betoff, Grade 11

Stuck

I want to travel the world,

Fly from one end of the globe to the other,

Arms spread wide open,

Welcoming in the adventure, the lessons, the beauty that this planet has to offer.

I want to see the great cities,

Feel my stomach drop as I glance up at skyscrapers so tall,

Sail down streets made entirely of crystal clear water,

Realizing how small we all are compared to everything else.

I want to immerse myself in small villages,

Hear the fascinating stories of the locals,

Discover hidden coffee shops better than any large chain,

Promising myself to never forget all that my eyes have been opened to.

Yes, that’s what I want.

But I am stuck,

Stuck in a classroom 7 hours a day,

Stuck in a dull town 7 days a week,

Oh how I hope I’ll make it out someday soon.
