Quitter

Nabiha Khan, Grade 12

I quit everything I try

I wasn’t good, I won’t lie

In lacrosse I was always benched

I never sweat while other kids were drenched

I played soccer for four years

Never did I touch the ball because of my fears

Gymnastics was the worst it seems

I couldn’t even stand on the balance beams

The tennis balls came straight at me

I closed my eyes so I couldn’t see

I quit softball the day of tryouts

Due to all my preconceived doubts

Basketball lasted a day

You’re a quitter everyone would say
