Building
October 22, 2015
i want to build a home
where the only darkness
is in the shadow
of summer trees.
i want to build a home
where there are no closets.
monsters hide in closets.
instead, we’ll wear our
purple heart
on our sleeves,
leave the lies at the door
and refuse to keep
dressing our wounds in
shiny ribbon.
i want to build a home
where the only corners
will be on
the bended page
of a paper swan,
where the only sharpness
is a blade of grass,
where the only locks
are on a ribcage
to hold my holy heart.
i want to build a home
where love’s name can
fall freely from my lips,
in the same way
leaves
fall
in
autumn;
Beautifully.
