Girls Soccer Kicks off the Season
October 11, 2015
The Marlboro High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team has been doing an amazing job this season! They have been working very had and they are recovering from a shaky start with all of their persistence and determination.
The MHS girl’s varsity soccer team has spent many weeks training for this season, starting in the summer, before the August 15th tryouts. In fact, the girls used Reach Your Potential Training (RYPT) fitness group to help with their workouts, to get them toned for the season even prior to the official start of the season.
Mr. McGeough is the coach and this year’s captains are Kerin Miller, Jackie Bernstein, and Charis Chukuka. With all of the great leadership that is a part of the team there is no wonder why there has been so much optimism from the team.
Although the team has started off the first half of the season a little shaky, with a record of 1-5, they are optimistic that the recent practices will allow them to finish the season strong and on a positive note.
Andrea Vetrano, a senior who has been on the team since her freshman year, says her favorite memory is the number of people she has met throughout her four years of being on the team. The girls are always there to support each other, both on and off the field. Sarah Tropper, another Senior believes that the recent scrimmages will help them in finishing the season solid.
Good luck on a successful second half of the season ladies! All of your hard work has not gone unnoticed!
