With vaccinations available, traveling long distances has become safer. During the holidays, many individuals travel for vacation, to see family members, or even to celebrate special occasions. However, in order to keep people on airplanes safe, masks must be worn at all times, Covid-19 tests are required to be taken before for some flights, and even social distancing must be practiced on some flights. Masks are strongly encouraged to be worn everywhere by experts. Even with the Covid-19 vaccination, masks can prevent the virus from being transmitted. Just because one has the vaccine, they are not immune to the virus. Studies have shown that it can still be dangerous to the vaccinated individuals. On an airplane, which is a close distance and small area, Covid-19 can spread rapidly from person to person. Airplanes, specifically, have recycled air as they are so high up in the atmosphere. Therefore, the ability to receive the virus is likely. In other words, it is difficult, even for the vaccinated, to have much immunity so high up in the air. For people on the airplane, it is recommended by experts to wash hands often and put on disinfectant along with wearing a strong mask like an N-95 mask. This will not guarantee protection from the virus, but it can help to prevent transmission. 

Even with all Covid-19 restrictions, there is a major increase in travel this year as a whole. Vaccinations have allowed individuals to feel that they are able to have more of their original life back. More gathering and family events are able to occur. Therefore, airports and roads have been busy as everyone is trying to get somewhere for the holidays. Being indoors in quarantine for so long has not only caused the regular travelers to book transportation, but new travelers as well. People feel that this is the year to travel as it is beneficial to get out of the house after quarantine. 53.4 million U.S. people are expected to travel just over Thanksgiving. For individuals that are road tripping, which is expected to be many, gas prices have increased about $1.29 more than the past year. In airports, there is an expectancy of 80% more passengers than the past Thanksgiving alone. Overall, travel will be more popular this year for all individuals even with the safety guidelines that must be taken.
