Steph Curry: The Greatest Shooter Ever?

Jared Goodman

Steph Curry, the point guard for the Golden State Warriors, is known for his remarkable three point shooting. The three time NBA champion won the MVP award in 2015 and 2016, becoming the first ever player to win unanimously in 2016. Now, five years later, Curry continues to shoot the three ball better than anyone else.

Although it is still early in the season, Curry is the current frontrunner to win the league’s most valuable player award. He has led Warriors to a 12-2 start, the best in the NBA, while averaging 28.1 points per game on 38.7% from beyond the arc. Teams consistently put multiple defenders on him, but his ability to get open by moving without the ball allows him to continually score a lot of points. This is nothing new for Curry as he has shot 43.2% from deep over the course of his career.

Recently, Steph Curry has surpassed Ray Allen for most career three pointers made in NBA history. This has led to the debate if Steph Curry is the greatest shooter of all time. And to answer this question, Curry is without a doubt the best shooter the NBA has ever seen. He is able to put the ball in the hoop at will and can do it from distances way beyond the three point line. He will continue to do this for the rest of his career, which still has a long way to go.
