Tanker Accident Causes Mayhem in Marlboro Township

Dylan Marchese

On Friday, February 22, 2019, two tanker trucks carrying thousands of gallons of fuel collided on Route 9 in Marlboro. This intersection is highly-traveled, and this accident closed the road for hours. Many businesses were forced to evacuate such as the Marlboro Plaza and Marlboro Commons on Route 520 and Route 9, since they are very close to where the accident occurred. This accident caused traffic all around Marlboro and delays in school dismissals. Children from schools came home up to an hour late that day. Now, the accident is clear and there are crews cleaning and repairing the damaged highway. Investigation teams are still checking the area and trying to find the cause of the accident.
