One Act Wonders!
February 26, 2017
On February 16, Marlboro High School Theater Society presented its first ever One Act Wonders. Theater Society and Student Counsel teamed up in order to showcase 10 student-written scenes along with the announcement of the Senior Superlatives. An idea created by seniors, Alex Fernandez and Robert Landi, the One Act Wonders was taxing on the cast, but a major success. During the summer, Landi and Fernandez came up with the creative idea and brought it to the club’s director, Anthony Greco, who decided to try out the idea and see if it worked. Students were able to submit their own pieces of writing, and to the creators’ surprise, they were forced to turn down some of the submissions because there were too many!
The night of the One Act Wonders was a complete success: the audience enjoyed watching ten hilarious scenes, many seniors received memorable superlatives, and the clubs raised a combined total of over one thousand dollars. These comical, student-written one acts combined with the senior superlatives created a spectacular night that we should look forward to next year.
