The 45th President of the United States

Jacob Wasserman

As of 12:01 on January 20, 2017, Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States.

It comes on the heels of one of the most heated and tense Presidential Elections in US history. As per tradition, the ceremony took place on a balcony of the US Capitol building. It was attended by every living former President (except for George HW Bush, who is in the hospital), along with hundreds of thousands of Americans. Also notably, Hillary Clinton, Trump’s opponent, was there, but as a former First Lady, not as President-elect, as she would have liked. The ceremony included Vice President Mike Pence taking the oath of office, President Trump’s oath of office, his inaugural address and the inaugural parade, which the Presidential motorcade was a part of. The Inauguration was met by massive protests, some peaceful, but some violent.

I would like to personally wish President Trump luck in this new phase of American history.
