On Wednesday, October 21st, art students district-wide participated in the annual Spooktacular window painting contest.

Groups from each of the six high schools decorated storefronts throughout downtown Freehold, with art ranging from classic autumn designs to spookier arrangements.

This year, 16 upper-level art students from Marlboro were selected to compete: Julia Pometti, Jillian Walker, Serina Salaj, Amanda Valinoti, Brittany Ciumei, Raquel Rosen, Lief Krutko, Rebecca Smith, Sari Kuba, Bailey Levin, Annaleigh Potterton, Elena Yu, Anna Marinina, Olivia Szemak, Matt Cruz, and Lily Gilston.

Accompanied by Mrs. Beaton and Mrs. Casella, both fine and applied art teachers, the students decorated windows on Throckmorton Street from 9am until 2:30pm that day.

The group of artists painted a variety of designs that were judged by a panel.
Congratulations to Lily Gilston and Matt Cruz for winning honorable mention for the piece titled “Vampira”.
