Coming off of their outstanding season last year, winning second place in the Shore Conference, the varsity girls volleyball team have continued to impress many with their high winning streak of this year. Finishing off their season with a record of 15-5, the lady mustangs head into the post-season ready to come back and take the title of Shore Conference champions.

Throughout the season there have been many highlights, especially for seniors Grace Kenningham, Jessie Iacobellis, Teresa Dinh and Sarah Mirza. Against Freehold Boro on October 15th, the girls had a great win, coming back from the loss of the first round 22-25, to win that of the second two 25-19 and 25-20. Shore Conference Player of the Year 2014, Grace Kenningham, had 15 kills along with 4 aces, one assist and one block. Senior Jessie Iacobellis had 7 kills and two digs along with Sara Mirza who obtained 3 kills and two blocks. Teresa Dinh notably aided the team with 6 kills and 20 assists. Dinh is 30 assists away from achieving 1,000 assists in her high school career!

Juniors Hannah Lee and Natalie Delgado assisted the team in 4 kills, 2 blocks and 3 digs. Youngest of the team, Talia Hanaburgh also helped with 4 kills. These girls have an outstanding record so far and hopefully take their talent and mustang pride with them into the post-season. During their first Shore Conference game, the girls won their match against Toms River North on Tuesday, October 27th 2015, a key win. We wish the girls luck in future Shore Conference games and hope that they will bring back another title for Marlboro High School.
