Goodbye Summer, Hello Winter

Samantha Griswold, Grade 11

The leaves have started to fall

The chill has set in

The winter coats are coming out

And the animals are burrowing in

The summer is quickly going

And the shadows seem to be growing

The sun is hidden, not showing their face anymore

But I don’t mind, since it’s the moon I adore

The nights are growing longer

The moon is growing stronger

You can hear the wolves howling

The night time is over powering

The fire eats at the logs

You can hear the singing of the frogs

The sun comes up around six o’clock

Towards the south the birds will flock
The stormy clouds will block the stars

Keeping everyone in the dark
