Twinkle, Twinkle Little Beast

Samantha Griswold, Grade 11

Twinkle twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are
Your grotesque body stands up so high
It looks as though you touch the sky

When the blazing sun is gone
When the nothing shines upon
Your eyes glow red
You look as though your over fed

Then the traveler in the dark
Terrified your anger might spark
He could not see which way to go
For he is being quiet and slow

Out in the dark night you keep
Nobody dares make a peep
For everyone is scared to shut their eyes
Until the sun is in the sky

As your eyes fill with fire and spark
You light the travelled in the dark
Though I know not what you are
You sure do leave a nasty scar

Twinkle twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are
Flying above the world so high
Like a demon in the sky

Twinkle twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are
How I wonder what you are
