MHS homecoming 2015 was an amazing success! Marlboro High School staff and students really showed their school spirit during the Homecoming Dance on Friday October 9th and the Homecoming Game that followed on Saturday October 10th.

The Homecoming Dance is an annual event hosted by the MHS executive student council every year. This year the theme was an Arabian Night which was evident throughout the decorations. Students entered under a decorated tent into a dance party that had the MHS community on their feet for hours with snacks as well!

Also at the dance the Homecoming Court was announced as well as a new addition for this year: class princesses. The homecoming court included: Emily Braisted, Taylor Spiewack, Jen Vatnik, Gianna Zamarra, Jenna Di Marco, Nikki Sacco, and Alexa McFadden. They entered the dance with their escorts and let the fun continue. The newest addition to the Homecoming Festivities was the Class Princess. Each grade elected one student to be the princess for the event and the winners were Jennifer Vozzo for the junior class, Allison Galkin for the sophomore class, and Vivian Russeau for the freshman class. They too were escorted into the dance.

In addition to the fun with the DJ at the dance, there was a photo booth sponsored by the Technology Student Association with all different backgrounds to choose from. The night was an overall success!

The very next day was the Homecoming Football Game! Current and former packed the stands to watch the game against Freehold Boro High School. It was a day full of fun, school spirit and food!

At halftime, following the halftime show put on by the talented marching band and MHS dance team, convertibles drove the Homecoming Court around the track with their escorts. Each was announced one by one before the Class Princesses were acknowledged and the Homecoming Queen winner was announced for the first time after much suspense.

In the end, Miss Congeniality was won by Alexa McFadden and Homecoming Queen 2015 was won by Emily Braisted.

Emily Braisted was extremely excited about her victory. She said,

“All I felt was excitement! It was crazy how you see movies with Homecoming Queens being crowned and then all of a sudden I’m crowned Homecoming Queen of my school. It was such a memorable moment.”

Overall, homecoming 2015 was a complete success!  There were so many amazing memories and it really showed what the true spirit of MHS is all about!
