Late That Summer Night

Ishika Jain

The air was salty,

And the breeze was subtle,

The waves were calm,

And the sand was soft.

Everything was perfect, late that summer night.

The boardwalk was lit up,

With twinkling fairy lights.

While golden bright stars,

Sprinkled the cool night.

Everything was perfect, late that summer night.

No school to worry about,

No sports in session.

Everything was free,

Up until the last day of the season.

Everything was perfect, late that summer night.

Your nails painted,

A delicate white,

While walking around,

In your sandy slides.

Everything was perfect, late that summer night.
