The Sun

Ishika Jain

It seeps through every crack.

Blinding those who dare to look,

Straight into it’s bright, blinding eyes,

Which it uses as some kind of hook.

Gracing our bare skin,

With its blistering claws of heat,

Here we lay, in its mercy.

Sweet, like their little treat.

It makes its mark

In the great blue sky,

Shining above,

All the other stars as they fly.

It brings us joy,

When rain soaks our land,

And brings us exhaust,

When we are on the beach, in the sand.

The sun,

What a creation,

It not only gives us life,

But love to our very nation.
