Raindrops

Elizabeth Saada

Raindrops. There were raindrops outside her window. Some were soft and barely heard. Others had a thunderous effect against the glass. She rubbed her eyes and got out of bed. Her face had become puffy, her blue eyes felt swollen.

The raindrops were getting heavier now and all the memories started to flood back and the tears started to puddle in her eyes, like the ones outside her window.

His voice still seemed so clear in her mind. He was like a dream, but all good dreams have to come to an end at some point.

She looked out her window again. Memories are still flooding her mind ,”I’m sorry but, there’s a new girl…..we’ve been going out for a couple weeks…” She looked away.

The rain only reminded her of her pain. The rain kept her from moving on.

She ran to her desk digging through the drawers. She pulled out a pair of scissors.

Strands of hair fell to the floor like the raindrops.

She looked back out the window. The raindrops were falling lighter now. It almost looked peaceful for a second. But, she could see a storm coming soon. A storm that the raindrops wouldn’t be able to get her through.

She wished she could escape the pain. Escape the drama and fake friends and all the lies. She wished her life could be as peaceful as a rain drop.
