Timeline of Shooting

There have been many disturbing, visible indications that should’ve been taken with greater seriousness. To begin with, on social media, Jennifer Crumbley posted about Ethan’s dad buying

him a gun for x-mas and shooting it for the first time. Weapons purchased by members of legal age must undergo the consequences of failing to execute proper security to avoid it in the hands of a minor. Ethan later posted publically on how he was going to use the gun at his school. Ethan’s parents discovered alarming images that he drew along with a teacher finding it. The drawing depicted of a person holding a gun with the words “the thoughts won’t stop, help me” and in the second part included someone being shot with other phrases saying, “blood everywhere”, “my life useless” and “the world is dead”. Ethan’s parents were informed about the situation and conselors were involved. Before counseling, ethan altered the drawing, scribbling the main components of it.

The morning of the shooting(November 30,2021), Ethan’s parents forgot to check his bag before he went to school. Once Ethan Crumbley began shooting, he was caught within 5 minutes, using a total of 30 bullets, 18 remaining. Jennifer Crumbley texted him around the time of the event telling him, “don’t do it.” Following that, James Crumbley called the police and notified them that his gun went missing and it could be with his son. Ethan turned himself in willingly once he was caught, showing  no forms of resistance.

Outbreak of Dispute

Many people are enraged by the fact that this mass shooting could’ve been prevented. Mulitple acts were directly shown as threatening yet, not enough was done to ensure the safety of the students, why? This widely asked questions remains a mystery and yet to be uncovered. Many are saying the charges that the Crumbley’s are facing aren’t enough nor justified transitioning into the idea of white supremacy thus, making it a tricky case. The factor of color is bringing a lot more concern, having thought its the influence of Ethan not facing harsher consequences such as many years of jailtime. Ethan killed 4 students and majority of people are keen on holding him appropriately accountable. Those who shall be remembered and kept in our hearts: Tate Myre, Madison Baldwin, Hana St. Juliana, and Justing Shilling should be given justice they deserve.
