On April 15, 2019, a terrible tragedy occurred. The world-famous, historic chapel, the Notre Dame burst into flames. This fire was so destructive that the roof collapsed. Last night, the fire was under control and then stopped. Firefighters were working around the clock to stop this potentially deadly blaze. Luckily, there were no deaths, but only two police officers and one firefighter were injured.

Built in 1163, this historic chapel has been a large part of Parisian history for centuries. The spire collapsed, scaffolding disintegrated, and the entire roof was engulfed in flames. French Prime Minister, Emmanuel Macron, wants to rebuild this piece of history, which can be a long, hard process. However, preserving this chapel will be beneficial to French citizens as well as tourists traveling to the country.
