On March 2nd, Shakespeare LIVE! performed another rendition for our school. Following last year’s performance of Romeo and Juliet, the group decided on Midsummer Night’s Dream. Immediately, the audience was pulled in. The adaptation evoked humor and intertwined contemporary elements that appealed to the sea of youth that was watching in the auditorium. The sets and performances were the most energetic and appealing as I’ve witnessed in a Shakespeare LIVE! performance.

The show remained witty and entertaining throughout — a Shakespeare play holding the attention of 200 high school students for 2 hours is no easy feat. The cast and set was commendable and visually appealing. And the dab-death in the midst of Pyramus and Thisbe was simply unforgettable.
