Varsity Boys Basketball Season Recap

Josh Laufer

The Mustangs have capped off another successful basketball season. After 26 games, the boys grabbed a winning record at 16-10. The season included several exciting wins. The team grabbed victories over the likes of Manalapan, Howell, St. John Vianney, and Freehold Township. Hence, the attendance and support continued to grow as the boys built on their success. Unfortunately, the Mustangs suffered a loss to Colts Neck in the quarterfinals of the Central Jersey Group 4 State Tournament. Despite this loss the boys have many reasons to be proud and hopeful for the future.

PJ Ringel added another season of dominance to his rèsumè. Ringel lead the team in field goals made at 122. Additionally, Michael Jastrzebski controlled the boards en route to 138 rebounds. Ultimately, the Mustangs’ success lies in their all-around talent throughout the team.

The future is bright for Marlboro basketball. Marlboro has increased its field goals and three pointers each year since 2013. The program continues to infuse and develop young talent. The boys will have 9 of their 14 players returning next season. Thus, the success is only beginning for these Mustangs and they will continue to work to improve on this bright season. Congratulations on a great season and good luck next year.
