MHS Swim Completes an Amazing Season

The Marlboro High School swim team has had a very successful season this year. Beginning with practices in November every morning from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, there is no doubt that the members of the swim team put forward passion and commitment. The team began competing on December 1st and has come a long way. Their last meet was not until February 2nd.

The MHS swim team had very strong leadership this year. With head coach Walsh, assistant coach Paullus and all 12 senior captains, there was plenty of encouragement for the team members.

The swim team had some major accomplishments this season. One was that the team’s 200 medley relay that qualified the Team for the Meet of Champions. The relay consisted of Ryan Meng, Tristan Nguyen, Vincent D’Amato, and James Rush. Additionally, the team won the A North Division championships which enabled them to go to the state playoffs.

Senior and captain James Rush talked about how much he has loved his experience on the MHS swim team. He says, “I love Marlboro swimming because of the great friends I have made over my high school career. All of the coaches and teammates have been some of the nicest people I have ever met.” This season James placed first in the 50 free at Monmouth county’s and first in the 100 at Shore Regionals.

Overall, the Marlboro High School swim team has had an outstanding season. There is no doubt that they will bring even more success next season.
