After the final week of college football comes the ever-famous bowl games. In college football, the top four teams play tournament style to decide who is the National Champion. The College Football Playoff has been in place since last year and faced early criticism but is growing in popularity. This year the top four teams are Clemson, Alabama, Michigan State, and Oklahoma, respectively. Undefeated, number one Clemson will face off against number four Oklahoma on New Year’s Eve in the Capital One Orange Bowl. The winner of that game will face either number three Michigan State or Alabama who are playing each other in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on New Year’s Eve as well.

This years’ playoff is shaping up to be an exciting one showcasing great, young talent. There is no clear favorite to win the playoff but many believe Oklahoma can upset Clemson and hand them their first loss. Alabama was featured in the playoff’s inaugural season last year and look to redeem themselves this year after suffering a loss in 2014 to Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl. Clemson, Oklahoma, and Michigan State will all be making their first appearance in the playoff and will want to show why they made it this far. After the semifinals are played on New Year’s, the winners will square off in the College Football Playoff National Championship that will be held in the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. It will be an exciting and eventful playoff and certainly with the talent this year, the best team will earn the trophy.
