Directed by Bill Condon, Disney’s animated classic, Beauty and the Beast, takes on a new form, with an all-star live cast. Starring Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Steven as the Beast and Luke Evans as Gaston, the story is set in a small provincial French town. The movie opens with a spoiled and selfish Prince, who lives in a majestic castle, hosting a grand ball with his royal subjects in attendance. On this specific night, an old beggar woman enters the castle and offers the Prince a rose in exchange for shelter from the cold. The Prince laughs at the old woman, even as she warns him not to be deceived by appearances. As the Prince turns her away, the old woman’s haggard appearance disappears to reveal a gorgeous Enchantress. As punishment she turns him into a hideous Beast and transforms his subjects into household objects. The spell also causes the people outside the kingdom to forget about the castle and everyone living in it. The Beast was left with a magic mirror as his only window to the world, as well as a single rose. Lastly, the Enchantress informs the Beast that if he can earn the love of another, before the last petal falls, the spell will be broken. Otherwise, he will be condemned to forever remain a beast. What may be his only opportunity to break the spell arises when he meets the beautiful and independent Belle, the only human girl to ever visit the castle since it was cursed. However, Belle is terrified of the Beast and only stays in the castle, as the Beast’s prisoner, in exchange for her father’s freedom. What happens next will remain a secret…until you go to see this movie yourself! In addition, this movie will have you singing, laughing and applauding, so do not miss this movie before it leaves the theaters.
