On September 25, 2016, ABC aired the one-hour season premiere of the renowned adventure series, Once Upon a Time. The first episode of season six introduced new characters and new conflicts for the people of Storybrooke.

Once Upon a Time first aired in October of 2011 and its fan base has continuously grown ever since then. The program revolves around a fictional town and extraordinary characters. A majority of the characters are from fairytales, but the show adds a modern twist so viewers will never know what to expect. There are also many different realms in which the characters explore and need to solve problems.

The premiere, titled “The Savior”, starts off by introducing two new characters to the show, Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz) and Jafar (Oded Fehr). Viewers discover that Aladdin, not only Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), is a savior, and perhaps there are more saviors in other realms.

The story then continues in the town of Storybrooke where problems arise for the main cast. Regina’s (Lana Parrilla) and Zelena’s (Rebecca Mader) sisterly bond is tested. Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) searches for a way to awaken Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and along the way encounters Morpheus (Giles Matthey), who causes problems for Rumple’s and Belle’s relationship. Emma has visions of an untimely death and has an unsteady hand, which can impact her role as the savior. Hyde (Sam Witwer) plans to take control of the town, which negatively affects all Storybrooke inhabitants. Most importantly, the Evil Queen (also Lana Parrilla) reigns once more and plans to wreak havoc on the lives of all the characters.

onceuponatimeThroughout the season, additional characters will be introduced including the Count of Monte Cristo (Craig Horner), Captain Nemo (Faran Tahir), and Princess Jasmine (Karen David). However some familiar faces, who have not been in recent seasons, will also pop up including Dr. Archibald “Archie” Hopper (Raphael Sbarge).

Will the characters resolve their issues with each other, Hyde, and the Evil Queen? Will this season be the end of Emma Swan? Oncers will have to tune in on Sundays and see!
